Real Raw – Day 26 – Raw Morning, Birthday Evening

By amberstarfire

I've just realized that I skipped posting day 15 in the journal. It's of no importance, except for the great carrot/coriander soup I made – fresh carrot juice, avocado, and coriander, blended and garnished with sesame seeds. This soup is a real treat. Even my son likes it!

Breakfast: I started my morning with warmed oats, fresh almond milk, peach, cubed, hazelnuts, pumpkin seeds. Really good and filling.

Lunch: Salad with marinated portobello mushroom.

Dinner: Rich's birthday. I'm SO hungry, but I refrain from eating — have to save it up for the "big dinner." We open some Mumm DVX sparkling wine (expensive stuff) to celebrate while he opens presents. Then, we head up to "The Farm," a swank restaurant at the Carneros Inn. I've never been there before and am very impressed. My 13-year-old son is overwhelmed by how upscale the place is. And, he is the only person under 30 in the place.

I start my meal with gazpacho (hey, it's raw!) and really good. We've brought our own bottle of Mumm 2006 Chardonnay. My main course is scallops. I drink coffee and have a bit of each of "the boys'" desserts. And we make our way home.

Verdict:
Great day. Wonderful birthday party. And, because I allowed for this, I don't feel like a strayed from the plan.
